Policy engagement
Engaging with ministers, other policy makers and our membership to inform our views to influence government
By changing hearts and minds about the purpose of work, the value of people and the role of people professionals, we're helping to ensure work benefits everyone
The CIPD's voice and influence, coupled with the actions of our members, is helping to create a future of work that works for everyone - not just for businesses and economies, but also for the people that drive them and the societies they form part of.
We use our insights and expertise to encourage relevant stakeholders to invest in the HR and L&D profession, as well as other capabilities and practices that help to champion better work and working lives. Policy makers and media frequently turn to us for an expert, impartial view on the world of work.
Our research brings together academics and practitioners to support the profession with credible and relevant evidence on people management and development and push the boundaries of knowledge on people, work and change.
We encourage and support our members to use their skills and experience to help us drive positive change in the world of work. We champion a culture of volunteering in the workplace by giving our members opportunities to volunteer through our branch network and programmes such as Steps Ahead Mentoring, as well as conducting research into employer-supported volunteering and the implications for HR and L&D professionals.
